What Is UHMW-PE?
UHMW-PE, or Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene, is a polyethylene material engineered for wear applications. Compared with standard polyethylene, it has much longer molecular chains, giving it greater toughness and significantly better resistance to abrasion.
The material is naturally slippery, so parts move smoothly without creating excessive friction. It also absorbs very little moisture and resists many chemicals, making it suitable for equipment that operates in wet, dusty, or corrosive environments.
UHMW-PE is commonly machined into wear strips, guide rails, bushings, rollers, liners, spacers, scraper blades, and conveyor components. In many applications, it replaces metal parts to reduce noise, lower friction, and extend equipment life.
Unlike some engineering plastics, UHMW is not selected for its stiffness. It is chosen because it continues to perform in applications where impact, abrasion, and continuous movement would quickly wear out other materials.

Black UHMW-PE contains carbon black for improved UV resistance, making it a better choice for outdoor equipment or applications exposed to sunlight. It maintains the same low-friction and wear-resistant characteristics as natural UHMW-PE while offering better long-term weather resistance.
Food-Grade UHMW-PE
Food-grade UHMW-PE is widely used in food processing and packaging equipment where cleanliness and material compliance are important. It provides excellent wear resistance, low moisture absorption, and is available in FDA-compliant grades for food-contact applications.
Oil-Filled UHMW-PE

Anti-Static UHMW-PE
